This evening brings together two special artists whose cultures combine classical music at the highest level: Sunghae Kim, violin virtuoso from the South Korean metropolis of Seoul, in a duo with the young Munich pianist Vivien Walser.

Professor Sunghae Kim is a graduate of Seoul National University as well as the University of Music and Theatre Munich in the class of Ana Chumachenco and received her Doctorate of Music in Stonybrook, New York. She performs regularly as a soloist at international festivals, including the Naantali festival, Rheingau Festival, Speyer Festival, Ascoli Piceno Festvial, and is a member of the Korean Chamber Orchestra. She has taught as a professor at Kookmin University in Seoul since 2013, and previously taught on the faculties of Sejong University, Seoul National University, Yonsei University and others.

Vivien Walser became interested in music at a very early age and started piano lessons at the age of five. Since the age of thirteen she has been a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben. She is a 1st prize winner in numerous international competitions as well as the national competition Jugend Musiziert. The young artist is regularly invited to perform at piano recitals and has already performed at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival on the Junge Elite stage, at the Resonanzraum in Hamburg, and at the Philharmonie im Gasteig.
